Hi everybody, I am Akshay Kumar, a budding engineer. I used to be a stammerer, and it held me back from achieving what I could. In school, I was not able to take part in debates and speeches etc. even though I wanted to. In college, I was not able to exploit my potential (participation in projects etc) due to constant fear of speaking to people. It was a torrid time for me. I used to think that this will never go away. I decided about 5 months back, that I will have to face the stammering problem now, since it was high time and I was to appear in placements. I looked up speech therapy centres on the Internet and found A.P. Singh Sir`s centre as the first search result. My parents and I went for a consultation and after speaking to him and seeing his experience, we were sure that he was the right man for the job. I decided to join speech therapy. The past five months of speech therapy have been nothing short of a miracle for me. I can say now that 80% of my stammering problem has been eradicated completely. I can now speak to people fluently, and am very happy. I would like to thank A.P. Sir for this, as it is due to him only that I am a confident individual today. His tone has always been encouraging and the speech therapy program designed by him is excellent. I have found the 'articulation' and 'rate-of-speech' techniques particularly important, and I use them in my speech regularly. The most important aspect about this Speech Therapy program, however, is the Saturday session of Public Speaking and Group Discussions. It is a stammerer`s dream to be able to speak in front of a large crowd. In the Saturday session, I was able to speak in front of a lot of people without fear of embarrassment. Also, hearing influential people like Mr. Raja Chhabra, Mr. Alok and Mr. Ravish gave me a lot of motivation. After the first Saturday session, it was the first time that I truly felt that this problem can be solved. Thanks to A.P. Sir, it is now almost fully solved.
